Adna Ašić

Bio

Dr. Adna Ašić is a Scientific Associate at the Verlab Scientific Research Institute for Biomedical Engineering, Medical Devices, and Artificial Intelligence, where she develops and manages scientific and research-development projects. She leads the AthletICODE module, the first initiative in Bosnia and Herzegovina combining psychophysical and genetic testing of athletes to optimize performance and reduce injury risks. With over ten years of academic experience, she is an Associate Professor of Genetics and actively fosters innovation through collaboration with universities and laboratories across Europe. Dr. Ašić plays a key role in shaping healthcare innovation ecosystems by coordinating and contributing to EU-funded initiatives, including a COST Action, two Erasmus+ projects, and a Horizon Europe project. She has authored over 40 scientific papers and two textbooks, and she promotes gender equality in STEM as leader of a Gender Equality and Inclusion Working Group within a European research project.
