Claudia Coste

Bio

Claudia Ioana Coste is a young researcher from Babeș-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and graduated with 1st class honors. During her Computer Science studies, she specialized in cybersecurity fields combined with the Machine Learning domain. The Bachelor thesis was entitled Contributions regarding the identification of clickbait web links, where web proxy server logs were analyzed and Machine Learning algorithms were used to detect clickbait. Moreover, the dissertation thesis was about Clickbait & Fake News - a cross language approach. Additionally, she participated in projects within the cybersecurity domain, such as the CSPA project Quality links in WWW, Combating the clickbait and the scientific research project Detecting online publishers' bad habits: clickbait and fake news. In her PhD studies, she is currently conducting research in the Malicious Web Links domain, how to retrieve malicious and benign links, what information can be extracted based on the URL, and what ML algorithms are suitable for this problem type. So far, she had published eight scientific articles in specialized conferences or journals. Her domain of interests are Web Security, Web Technologies, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing.
