Oscar Corcho

Bio

Oscar Corcho is a Full Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), where he co-leads the Ontology Engineering Group (OEG). His research focuses on Semantic Web technologies, knowledge graphs, linked data, ontological engineering, and artificial intelligence, with applications in open science, public services, and data interoperability.

He earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a Master's in Software Engineering, and a PhD in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from UPM. Before joining the UPM faculty, he was a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Manchester and a research manager at iSOCO.

Professor Corcho has led and contributed to numerous European and international research projects on semantic technologies, AI, and data governance. He has published hundreds of scientific papers and several influential books, including Ontological Engineering, and has received multiple awards for his contributions to knowledge representation, semantic technologies, and AI research.
