About DiGi-SEII

Digital Scaling for Social Enterprises: Empowering Impact and Innovation (DiGi-SEII) is a three-year initiative launched on 2 September 2024. Co-funded by the EU under the SMP-COSME 2023-SEED programme, the project equips social enterprises (SEs) and their support organisations (SESOs) with the digital tools and skills they need to scale their activities and strengthen their impact.

Why Digitalization for Social Enterprises?

Digital transformation is reshaping the way businesses operate, innovate, and grow. For social enterprises, embracing digital tools is key to increasing efficiency, expanding reach, and fostering resilience. However, many SEs and SESOs struggle with limited digital skills, resources, and infrastructure. DiGi-SEII directly addresses these challenges, ensuring that SEs leverage technology to thrive in the digital economy.

Our Approach

DiGi-SEII is a capacity-building programme that helps social enterprises (SEs) and social economy support organizations (SESOs) navigate digitalization and explore how it can support their development and growth. It combines live online and in-person training with self-paced online courses that allow participants to explore the training topics in greater depth. Complementary services such as mentoring, matchmaking, peer exchanges and study visits provide opportunities to share experience and consider how to apply what they have learned. The programme also includes train-the-trainer activities to help support organizations explore how they can use the programme’s learning and resources in their own work.

Project Goals and Impact

The DiGi-SEII project is ambitious in its scope. Over the course of the project, the consortium aims to:

  • Deliver 45 local, national, or regional capacity-building activities.

  • Train 260 individuals from social enterprises and SESOs.

  • Provide direct financial support to 260 social enterprises.
  • Facilitate 144 coaching, mentoring, and advisory sessions for both SEs and SESOs.
  • Organise 12 transnational training activities during the project.
  • Engage 50 social enterprises in a hackathon designed to foster digital innovation.

In addition to these targets, we aim to achieve a 20% increase in participants’ understanding of key training topics and expect to see a 3% annual increase in the number of social enterprises reporting investments in digital tools to scale their operations.

Project Partners and European Collaboration

DiGi-SEII is coordinated by Euclid Network, in collaboration with the following partners. The consortium brings together expertise in the social economy, digital innovation, training and business support from across Europe.

Contribution to EU policies

The DiGi-SEII project directly contributes to several EU policies, including the European Green Deal and the Transition Pathway for the Social Economy. By aligning with the EU’s priorities on digitalization and sustainability, the project will play a key role in supporting social enterprises as drivers of social innovation and economic resilience.

Together towards a digital and sustainable future

Through training, practical support and European collaboration, DiGi-SEII helps participants take concrete steps towards digital transformation. The project also supports SESOs in strengthening their capacity to guide social enterprises beyond the project’s duration.
